Bird Safaris
Bird Safaris
There are many different species of birds in Botswana. On safari, accompanied by an expert ornithologist, we travel through arrangement of contrasting landscapes and habitats including the vast Makgadikagadi Pans systems of the Okavango Delta, which is the world’s largest inland Delta.
We also see something of rural camping at Bokaa dam. This is Botswana’s thirteen International Birding Association (IBA’s), a home of up to eighty waterfowl species. The Nata Sanctuary that is also an International Birding Association (IBA), is the region’s main breeding grounds for Lesser and Greater Flamingo and White Pelicans,. The nutrient rich Boteti River is the habitat for most of the Okavango wetland species including rarities such as Lesser Jacana and Pygmy Geese.
The Okavango Delta is the natural habitat for a plethora of species with the large breeding heronries with up to nineteen heron species alone found in the Okavango. A visit to the area also provides the opportunity for watching birds amongst the great spectable of Africa’s wildlife .
